David has more than 20 years broad experience in commercial matters gained in private practice and in the corporate environment. Most recently he was a senior corporate lawyer with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Melbourne where his practice was mainly concerned with project and construction finance, asset finance, off-balance sheet finance, corporate finance, e-commerce and state taxation as well as general commercial work.

David is familiar with complex financial documentation and securities. He has extensive drafting and procedures experience associated with those transactions as well as consumer credit and asset financing. He has considerable experience with the formulation, drafting and enforcement of complex transaction and security documentation, as well as standard form documentation.

He has assisted teaching at undergraduate and graduate courses in securities, current issues in international financing, and payment systems and e-commerce.

He received his undergraduate legal education at Victoria University of Wellington and studied Chinese language (Mandarin) and literature at Auckland University in New Zealand. He undertook post graduate studies in law at Monash University.
