Since signing the Bar Roll in 1999 Erin has developed a diverse practice which encompasses advocacy, advice work and pleadings. She has appeared in the High, Federal, Supreme, County, Federal Magistrates' and State Magistrates' Courts (including the Coroner's Court) and at VCAT. Erin primarily conducts cases in the civil jurisdiction, however she is also briefed by the Office of Public Prosecutions in criminal matters. Prior to joining the Bar Erin was a Senior Associate at Russell Kennedy Solicitors.

In 1999 Erin appeared as junior counsel for the Metropolitan Ambulance Service at the Royal Commission into that organisation. In 2003 she was retained with Senior Counsel by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission to undertake an investigation into matters associated with the collapse of HIH. The investigation resulted in the first successful criminal prosecution of an officer of HIH. In 2007 and 2008 Erin represented several members of the Victoria Police before the Office of Police Integrity.

During her employment as a solicitor Erin was part of the legal team which represented the Department of Human Services in the long running inquest into the fire at Kew Cottages which caused the death of nine residents. Since joining the Bar she has appeared in many inquests for government clients and families of deceased persons. She has significant experience in the Coronial area. The inquests Erin has been involved in have touched on topics such as aged care, child protection, food safety, the prison system, product safety,the practises of doctors and pharmacists and the performance of emergency services.

Other examples of cases in which Erin has appeared include disciplinary matters before the Dental Board and Teacher's Board, injunction applications, anti-discrimination cases at VCAT, appeals against decisions of the Business Licensing Authority, Retail Tenancy disputes and Crimes Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried applications in the Supreme Court. She also regularly appears in interlocutory applications in the County and Supreme Courts.
