Fran was admitted in 1983 and has practiced full time as a barrister for more than 20 years specialising in Workplace Relations.

She has advised and appeared for many individuals and for some of Australia's top 100 companies, City Councils and State Government authorities in all manner of matters concerning the common law of employment, industrial relations, prosecutions under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and on all aspects of the application of the discrimination Acts.

She specialises in the intersection of the workplace relations act, the common law and the discrimination obligations of employment.
Her work in discrimination and sexual harrassment has been extensive over many years.

She is also involved in various complex trials more recently concerning the Confiscation Act, the application of the superannuation legislation to independent contractors and various appeals from tribunals.

Since 2004 she has had a series of appointments to enquiries and as an investigator. This included representation of Norske Skog at the Tasmanian hearing of the Royal Commission into the Building and Construction Industry Commission, a union intimidation investigation for a major car company and in 2010 was commissioned by a major Melbourne institution to investigate allegations of research misconduct.
