CURRENT PRACTICE
Robert Lombardi joined the Victorian Bar after completing his readership at the Bar with John Kaufman QC and doing his articles at Freehill Hollingdale & Page.
Robert has a broad practice in commercial litigation at all court levels: with particular experience in building disputes, retail tenancies, property law, town planning law and taxation law.
He also practices in criminal law and in disciplinary tribunals both in Victoria and in other states, especially Western Australia, and is a member of the Criminal Bar Association of Victoria.
Previous employment:
• A senior prosecutor with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions in Perth.
• In-house Counsel with the Department of Consumer Protection in Perth.
• A part-time instructor at the Leo Cussen Institute since 1996.
NOTABLE APPEARANCES
Robert has been junior counsel to several silks in major Supreme Court cases including Jim Kennan, Geoffrey Nettle and David Habersberger in Victoria and Michael Corboy and John Gilmour in Western Australia
He has conducting complex cases as sole counsel in Victoria and Western Australia; see for example:
Legion Heights v Oaktech [2006] VSC 497 and that same case in the Court of Appeal [2008] VSCA 145;
Brimbank Automotive v Murphy & Anor [2009] VSC 26.
