Melanie was Senior Associate to the Honourable Justice Pagone, Judge in Charge of the Commercial Court of the Supreme Court of Victoria and subsequently to the Honourable Justice Davies, also a Judge of the Commercial Court of the Supreme Court.

Melanie undertook a Bachelor of Science and Laws, and prior to commencing at the Court worked as a scientific researcher for three years. In that capacity, she worked predominantly in synthetic organic chemistry and is published in that area.

She is the Vice President of the Law Institute of Victoria's Young Lawyers Section and is the Honorary Treasurer of the International Commission of Jurists. She is also a member of the Commercial Bar Association and the Tax Bar Association.

Melanie is currently undertaking a Masters of Law at Melbourne University.
